Andrew Farmer joined Motherwell in 1935 from Glasgow Benburb, initially he attracted the interest of Rangers and Sunderland whom he had trials with during the 1934/35 season but a transfer never materialised, at Fir Park he would only stay for one year and register just the solitary appearance for the club. It didn’t help that he was at the club the same time and played in the same position as ‘Well’s most capped Scotsman, George Stevenson. The Paisley born inside-left later moved to England joining Aldershot where he played in 17 league games before having spells with Portadown, King’s Park and Dunfermline.
