Tommy McLean signed Ally Graham from Ayr United for £100,000, this coming in February 1993. He made his debut later that month when Motherwell went down 4-0 to Rangers. However, Ally never really fitted into the scheme of things once at Motherwell and he was sold to Raith Rovers after only 9 starts and 1 goal. His career was spent mostly around the Scottish lower leagues, but he had a spell with Finnish side TPV Tampere. Ally began his career as an 18 year old at Clydebank but made his name in the 1988/89 promotion season at Cliftonhill with Albion Rovers when he scored a relatively whopping 15 goals. Some criticised his work rate but Ally was mainly a target man.
