Signed for the club in 1974 as manager Ian St John used his connections from his former club, Graham Lloyd was a former Liverpool apprentice who joined the club straight from school and had been signed as a professional in January 1968, the closest he got to a first team outing at Anfield was from being on the bench in the European Fairs Cup against Dundalk in September 1969.
At Fir Park he spent most of his time as back up to the talented Stuart Rennie, he made nine league appearances for the club during the 1974/75 season, making his debut in a fine 4-0 win over Ayr United at Somerset Park. Lloyd followed Ian St John to Portsmouth after he was allowed to depart on a free transfer, he would enjoy more playing time at Fratton Park.
