Wallace Rea

Wallace Rea’s football career started with Royal Albert, then he joined Third Lanark as an amateur in 1954. A year later Wallace signed professional terms with Motherwell. At one point it looked like Wallace might have been the ideal replacement for Johnny Aitkenhead. Sadly it wasn’t to be, Rea played in a youthful forward line which included Archie Kerr (twenty), Alex Bain (nineteen) and Billy Reid (seventeen) they just couldn’t grind out the results needed and Wallace eventually left to join Bradford City in 1959 having only made the 15 appearances in Lanarkshire.
